Document mismatch · Product evidence
The test certificate names a different company
“The certificate is real” and “this certificate supports this seller’s product” are two different conclusions.
A supplier sends a polished CE, FCC, RoHS or laboratory report. The applicant, manufacturer, factory, model number or address does not match the company and product in the proposed order. The document may be altered, borrowed, legitimately shared within a group, or simply irrelevant.
Five fields to compare
- Applicant or certificate holder
- Named manufacturer and production address
- Exact product and model numbers
- Standard, scope and issue or expiry dates
- Report or certificate number with the issuing body
Ask for the relationship—not just another PDF
If the certificate belongs to a parent, affiliate, brand owner or contract manufacturer, ask for written evidence connecting that entity, the seller and your exact model. A matching company name still does not prove the goods shipped will be identical to the tested sample.
Separate two jobs
A company-identity check can establish whether the named entities are registered and related. Product-compliance assessment must be performed against the destination market, product and technical file by a qualified specialist. Do not confuse one with the other.
Why this is a purchase-intent keyword
Buyers usually search this question after receiving documents and before paying for tooling, samples or production. It is therefore a smaller search cluster than “find suppliers,” but much closer to a paid verification decision.
